Terms of Service

Last updated: February 2026

Introduction

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Areacodes website, applications, and services (collectively, the "Service") operated by Areacodes ("we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

About our Service

Areacodes is a platform that connects consumers with independent, local businesses. We provide a map-based discovery tool where users can find businesses in their area and access exclusive vouchers and offers. Our mission is to support local economies by making it easier and more rewarding to shop independently.

Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years of age to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have obtained parental or guardian consent to use the Service.

User accounts

Some features of the Service require you to create an account. When you create an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information
  • Maintain and promptly update your account information
  • Keep your password secure and confidential
  • Accept responsibility for all activity under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe have been compromised.

Vouchers and offers

Vouchers and offers available through the Service are subject to the following conditions:

  • Vouchers are provided by participating businesses and are subject to their individual terms and conditions
  • We do not guarantee the availability, accuracy, or validity of any voucher or offer
  • Vouchers may have expiry dates, usage limits, and other restrictions as set by the participating business
  • Vouchers are for personal, non-commercial use only and may not be resold or transferred unless explicitly permitted
  • We reserve the right to withdraw, modify, or limit any voucher or offer at any time without prior notice

Areacodes acts as an intermediary between you and the participating business. Any disputes regarding the redemption or validity of a voucher should be directed to the relevant business in the first instance.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation
  • Infringe the intellectual property or privacy rights of others
  • Distribute malware, spam, or other harmful content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service
  • Scrape, harvest, or collect data from the Service without our written consent
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
  • Interfere with the operation of the Service or other users' enjoyment of it
  • Use the Service for any fraudulent or deceptive purpose

Intellectual property

All content, features, and functionality of the Service — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, video, software, and the overall design — are owned by or licensed to Areacodes and are protected by UK and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, or otherwise exploit any of our content without our prior written consent.

Business listings

Business listings on Areacodes are provided for informational purposes. While we endeavour to ensure that listing information is accurate and up to date, we do not warrant or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any listing. Businesses are responsible for maintaining the accuracy of their own listings.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied
  • We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components
  • We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service
  • Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by English law.

Third-party links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by Areacodes. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites or services. You access third-party sites at your own risk.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. Any provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us via our Contact page.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
